Former UM Coach Jimmy Johnson Hall of Fame Announcement
Former University of Miami football coach Jimmy Johnson was named Tuesday as one of 17 members of the 2012 class of the College Football Hall of Fame. Johnson compiled a 52-9 record at UM and guided the Canes to the 1987 National Championship.

Linebacker Luke Kuechly, the No. 9 overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, agreed to a 4-year, $12.58 million contract with the Panthers on Thursday. And the Giants have agreed to terms with their first-round pick out of Virginia Tech, David Wilson.

VT's new head men’s basketball coach James Johnson hired Kurt Kanaskie, Mark Byington and Ramon Williams as assistant coaches. Byington has ties to Salem, while Williams is a VMI Hall of Famer. Kanaskie previously coached at Penn State and Navy.
